Dr. Southworth has a heart for helping the most vulnerable in our communities through her strategic and effective representation of the criminally accused and victims of human trafficking, particularly minors of sex trafficking. Prior to joining the Law Office of Erik L. Bauer as Of Counsel, she defended individuals facing criminal charges in King and Pierce Counties and immigrants in removal proceedings at the Northwest Detention Center as well as assisted refugees and immigrants in their applications for visas, lawful permanent residence, and citizenship in Seattle, Washington and Salt Lake City, Utah. In addition to criminal defense and civil litigation, she has prior legal experience in elder law, family law, and maritime law.

Dr. Southworth earned her PhD in Political Science, focusing on Comparative Politics and Public Administration, from the University of Utah in 2020, and her JD from the University of Texas School of Law in 2004. Dr. Southworth graduated magna cum laude from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs in 2000. She was admitted to the Washington State Bar Association in 2004 and the District Court of Western Washington in 2020.
